Sonrisas Siempre currently runs mission trips to Honduras.
The trip to Honduras is located in a small village called Comayagua outside of Tegucigalpa, the capital city. The clinic is housed on a Lions Club compound, where permanent dental equipment like dental chairs can be left year-round. In addition to the central clinic, Sonrisas also sends portable satellite “mini-clinics” to smaller villages that are out of range of our central clinic. Sonrisas has provided services to as many as 700 patients.
In our Honduras clinic, patients come from a variety of villages surrounding the Lions Club compound. Here we especially focus on children, including those in those in the orphanages surrounding the village. Knowledge of supply shipment, food, accommodations, and local contacts have been steadily improved over the years, so that now our Honduras trip is a smooth-running operation. In organizing its mission trips, Sonrisas Siempre administrators are careful to avoid areas of conflict or unrest.
