Each hotel room has a safe for your use – which is strongly recommended. It is recommended you store any electronics (i.e. tablets, laptops, etc.) as well as your wallet/money, your passport (and photocopies), and other valuables.
Snacks & Water
Bring snacks with you (granola, protein bars, trail mix packets, etc.); you will get hungry during the day. Bottled water is available at the hotel for purchase. It is a good idea to bring a self-identified reusable water bottle to refill throughout the day. You can refill at the hotel and Lions Club.
Flexibility
The key to this trip is to be flexible. The best-laid plans are often changed along the way; relax, go with the flow, and have fun.
Timezone
Honduras is on CST (Central Standard Time). You will quickly learn HST (Honduran Standard Time), meaning do not count on punctuality (just go with the flow). Once you get used to it, it really is quite relaxing.
Internet and WiFi Access
The hotel does have WiFi, but the signal can be weak at times (especially when the entire group is trying to access Facebook or FaceTime with loved ones). You are welcome to bring your tablet or laptop (there is a safe in each hotel room).
