We all take photos and videos throughout the entire trip that others will want to view and share. Once we return to the United States, details on uploading your photos and videos to a shared album online for all to access and see will be sent out.
International Calling
International Phone/Data Plans: Do not assume there will always be public Wi-Fi available. You are welcome to check with your wireless mobile carrier for international phone/data plans. Keep in mind, you will likely find international fees and charges on your next monthly statement if you use your phone without an international phone or data plan. However, many enjoy being disconnected for a week. There is Wi-Fi available at the hotel in Honduras, but it can be spotty, especially with everyone logging on at the same time. Many turn off their cellular data set their phone to airplane mode with Wi-Fi capabilities. You can also download WhatsApp for free – it’s a free messaging app and uses your phone’s internet connection.
Extra Clothes, Supplies and Toiletries
Each year, some leave behind extra t-shirts, shorts, scrubs, tennis shoes, toiletries, etc. to help locals out (and lighten our bags on the return trip).
Pool
There is a small pool at the hotel – more so to dip your feet in after a long day at clinic. However, you are welcome to bring a swimsuit if you so please.
Hotel Safe
Each hotel room has a safe for your use – which is strongly recommended. It is recommended you store any electronics (i.e. tablets, laptops, etc.) as well as your wallet/money, your passport (and photocopies), and other valuables.
